Here, you will discover places to visit and perhaps return to again. Visitors enjoy going to the United Kingdom, and usually remember their visit fondly.
London
London, being the Capital, has numerous iconic scenes-to-see and things to do, which causes most visitors overlook the additional “must-see” places spread all over the United Kingdom.
In London visitors tend to go to all the landmarks that they have heard about through school, papers & from other people. Places like Westminster, Big Ben, and the Tower of London. But if you go a little further east to Tower hamlets (London’s East End) you will find wonderful places to visit like Canary Wharf, Whitechapel (where you can take the Jack the Ripper Tour) Bethnal Green, (where there is a Museum of Childhood), or take the Docklands Light Railway to Greenwich on the south of the River Thames, and see the Great Painted Hall in the old Naval College. Greenwich and Whitechapel have great markets too. There are a seemingly endless number of places to visit in London, on and off the beaten track.
Scotland
Scotland has two major cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh, both full of history. Escape into the rural parts of Scotland and you will discover some of the best scenery that you will ever set eyes on. And who knows, you may even find Susan Boyle out and about!
Wales
Wales, is known to have some of the world’s best choirs, so if you’re going to Cardiff, try to time it so you can hear one of them.
The welsh valleys are beautiful, the lush green grass and many trees look as if you’ve gone into a fairy tale setting. In Wales, they have their own language (Galic Welsh), which is both spoken and written. When you go there you will probably see some odd signs with names that don’t appear pronounceable to the English speaker, but don’t worry, the signs are in English to!
Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is also part of the United Kingdom and is a short flight away or you could take a ferry, but the Irish Sea can be rough. Either way it doesn’t take long and it too, has a lot of beauty in both the countryside and cities. Derry and Belfast are the two largest cities, and there is plenty to see in both.
Northern Ireland is probably most famous (or infamous) for the “troubles” in the latter half of the 1900′s. Things seem to have calmed down quite a bit, and the whole area is much more prosperous now.
