Want to visit a beautiful place, then mystical India is the place to visit.  With its mind-blowing variety – from snowcapped peaks to the warm sands of the oceans edge, unique bazaars to the modern day designer boutiques.    The subcontinent is home to over a billion people.

India is home to many temples and has wonderful cities and rural villages to visit. India still has many of the old British colonial building in its cities.

This is a place that is frequented by packpackers and people that are looking for spiritual guidance.

Why not take safari in a National Park, or merely take a breath of the fresh air on a rejuvenating trek in Himachal Pradesh.

Don’t forget about the food! South Indian idlis (rice dumplings) to spicy north Indian curries, travellers are treated to a variety of subcontinental specialities.

India is an everlasting work-in-progress and for numerous travellers that is exactly what causes her to be indeed profoundly addictive.  It is completely about relinquishing yourself to the unknown: India is a place that nothing can quite prepare you for, for its very core  – lies in its mystery.  India is a place you’ll never forget.

Mumbai
Working capital of Maharashtra, is the most affluent and industrialised metropolis in India.  Mumbai is on India’s beautiful west coast, which runs from Gujarat, through Mumbai to Goa, Karnataka and Kerala.  The city has a natural seaport, which was formulated by the British.  It is one of the busiest ports of India.

Mumbai (till recently known as ‘Bombay’, and is still called Bombay by locals), derives its name from the local deity, Mumba Devi, whose temple is still there.  Mumbai is a group of seven islands which are today known as Colaba, Mahim, Mazgaon, Parel, Worli, Girgaun and Dongri.

It is a captivating city, pulsating with life, and, for numerous people, the gateway to India.  Places to visit are, the Colaba Causeway, Mumbai Fort, The Prince of Wales Museum, The Jehangir Art Gallery, Flora Fountain, Chowpatty beach, Taraporewala Aquarium, the Hanging Gardens and Kamala Nehru Park, Mahalaxmi Temple, Haji Ali tomb and mosque.

Delhi
The capital of India, has it all, the old and the new.  The ancient and the modern world are mixed here, not merely in the remains of a taking over of empires, but every bit in present social structure and lifestyles.  The name Delhi, Dehali, or Dilli is derived from Dhillika, the name of the first medieval town of Delhi, situated on the southwestern border of the nowadays Delhi, in Mehrauli.

Places of  interest to holidaymakers are the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Coronation Durbar Site, Raj Ghat, Jantar Mantar, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Secretariat Building, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, National Museum, National Gallery of Modern Art, Nehru Museum, Rail Transport Museum, International Dolls Museum, Crafts Museum, Gandhi Darshan, Purana Qila, the Zoo, Safdarjung’s Tomb, and Bahai House of Worship.

Chennai
Alias Madras, the capital of Tamil Nadu, is one of the four largest cities in India.

The city has fairly efficient system of public buses, and commuter trains run smoothly.  It has the second largest beach in the world, the Marina Beach. The beach isn’t a favourite for swimmers, as the sea is acknowledged to have a sizeable population of sharks.

Chennai is a vibrant city that’s managed to discover a beautiful balance between the modern and the traditional, a city with a distinct old – world charm.   Places to visit are St Mary’s Church, built in 1678-1680, Madras Harbour, the famous Kapaleeswarar Temple, San Thome Cathedral, The Government Museum and Art Gallery, Kalakshetra, an internationally renowned institution for Indian classical dance and music, National Deer Park and the Madras Snake Park.
